The Chevy 2500 is a truck made by Chevrolet. The car was introduced in 1960 and was in production till 1999. The Chevrolet 20 was available in a variety of models. Chevy used the C tag for all two wheel drive vehicles and the K tag for the four wheel drive vehicles. The Chevy 20 was available as a pick-up truck, a minivan, and station wagon. The first generation of Chevy 20 was unveiled in 1960 and the vehicle had a 3.8 L L6 engine producing 230 ft-lbs of torque. Used L6 engines are still up for sale on the internet and in certain workshops. The truck was available in a 3-speed manual synchromesh transmission, 4-speed synchromesh manual and 2-speed power glide automatic transmission variants. The 20 series is a heavier duty version of the 1/2 ton.

The Chevy Truck line has been a long running production vehicle. The Ford F150, F250, Dodge D100, D150 share the most market in light truck sales. The engine has been used in all the Chevy 2500 models from 1991 to 1994 and the C20 and K20 is built on the same platform. Not only is the 5.0 liter but the 5.7 liter 350 has been in use for more than 20 years. Some of the earlier C20 truck used a 4.3 L V6.

The 1993 model of the Chevy 2500 produced 135 CV and was powered by a 5.0 L V8. The design of the pick-up was altered and it was redesigned with a front placed engine; RWD or 4 wheel drive options became available, and new 3 door and 4 door models of the truck were introduced to the market. The Chevy 20 was from then on a pick-up truck, but the same platform was used to build a station wagon and a covered cab.

The 1995 model of the Chevy 2500 produced 150 CV and was named the Turbo Plus. The Turbo Plus came with a rear wheel ABS system. This solved the major braking problem that resulted when the truck was not loaded. The Chevrolet Bonanza and the GMC are built on the same platform as the Chevrolet 20. Building different cars on a single successful platform helps save costs of development. This budget cut is hence transferred to the customers as introductory offers, ultimately benefitting everyone.
