Buick Lacrosse was built using 3 different engine platforms but not all versions were the same. The base engine was the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. They made a LAF and a LUK version. The 3.0 liter V6 engine only had one version. The largest engine available at this time for the Lacrosse is the 3.6 liter. GM decided to have 2 different versions for design reasons. The 3 different engines used seem to have gotten the job done and were reliable engines for the model of Buick. Some of the core design of these engines are still being used today in other different makes of GM cars.
